It started with a self portrait...

A few years ago I was driving on a dirt road in the New Mexico desert, nothing but flat nothingness as far as I could see. No photo opportunities here!    But, there was an interesting cloud in the sky, so I stopped the car and grabbed a camera.  As I stepped into the desert my shadow stretched forward in the low light, leading me to of all things, a crop circle in the desert directly under the cloud. Now I had my photo opp!

  1. Would you consider donating some camera advice? I'm a novice, working with an out-dated 4 mega pixel camera. I do have the necessary eye for photography, but most importantly the interest. However, I'm not sure what to buy. I know I need at least 10 mega pixels for the large prints I want... but what would you say are other must haves? I don't want anything super expensive just yet as I can't afford it... looking in the $400-500 range as a max for now. Your work is amazing... I've enjoyed "peeking." Thanks!

  2. I have always loved the photos from this series. Isn't it amazing how you can be at the right place, at the right time, to create a beautiful photo out of a flat nothingness. You have an amazing talent!

  3. Thank you! In typical American fashion... I want everything I can get for my money! I've actually had phenomenal results with my old Fuji 4mp digital... without any fancy stuff, but I'd like to take it to the next level. So the pocket size doesn't matter, and I would have fun playing with controls. My main objective is to be able to make large prints. I really enjoy nature photography, but also toy with human subjects as well. I hope that answered the questions!
